LATEX CARE GUIDE

If you're new to latex read through this guide for helpful info to keep your latex in good condition.

Before First Wear

  • Rinse thoroughly with warm water to remove the storage powder
  • Apply silicone lube such as Vivshine or Vividress

Putting on and Taking off

  • Dressing aid or silicone lube should be used to assist in putting on your latex garments
  • Do not pull and stretch the latex with the tips of your fingers to avoid poking holes
  • After wearing wash gently with lukewarm water and a small amount of mild soap
  • Reapply some silicone lube and allow to dry fully before storing

Lubes

Never use oils on latex.

Avoid:

  • Crisco
  • Coconut oil
  • Oil-based “butters”
  • Any petroleum or plant-based oils

Oils will degrade latex over time, causing it to become sticky, weak, and eventually fall apart.

Any silicone or water based lube is safe to use on latex, however it should be noted latex can absorb water if exposed for extended periods of time. This will not damage the latex but may cause it to discolor slightly until it is allowed to dry fully.

Sunlight & Oxidation

Latex is sensitive to UV light and air exposure.

To prevent damage:

  • Keep lightly coated with silicone
  • Store in a cool, dark place
  • Avoid prolonged sunlight exposure

UV light can cause yellowing and uneven discoloration.

Storage Tips

  • Store completely dry
  • Keep away from metal
  • Avoid folding along sharp creases
  • Use garment bags for added protection
  • Do not store differently colored latex touching
